Job Summary
LW Entertainment (LWE) is an entertainment company with musical theatre at its heart. Founded in 1977, we exist to represent, manage, and licence the work of the most commercially successful composer of all time, Andrew Lloyd Webber. We oversee the portfolio of brands under Andrew Lloyd Webber (ALW) Musicals and collaborate with best-in-class partners to extend into traditional and non-traditional entertainment mediums, reaching existing and new audiences all around the world.
The Music Department works closely with ALW on both new compositions and the revival of existing works. Their role encompasses a wide range of musical activities, including developing new productions, running workshops, recording cast albums, orchestrating, rehearsing orchestras, and working directly with artists in the rehearsal room.
The Music Executive (Copyist & Preparation) will be responsible for the organisation, accuracy and keeping up to date of all works and materials in the ALW catalogue.
· Inputting handwritten materials into Sibelius.
· Copying and formatting parts and scores with precision and accuracy to a high standard.
· Edit and review definitive and licensed version of scores and assist in creation of orchestral parts
· PDF-ing, printing and proof-reading scores.
· Transcriptions of audio recordings into music notation software.
· Assist other departments as required, providing materials to Licensing, Marketing and Production departments.
· Undertake any other duties or projects that may be reasonably required and to deal with matters arising in a timely and effective manner.
· Provide copying services when producing scores or managing 3rd party copyists where necessary.
· Ensure that music and script computer data for all current productions is up to date, backed up and distributed.
· Assist organisation of all developmental workshops of new and existing work.
· Updating existing scores/piano vocals with updates given by the Director of Music or Musical Director.
· Assisting the Musical Director on approvals for 3rd party products and arrangements.
· Music education to graduate level or equivalent.
· Strong focus on accuracy, detail and quality of work.
· An excellent level of musical literacy.
· Excellent knowledge of Sibelius music engraving software (and preferably some knowledge of Finale).
· Familiarity with band and orchestral line-ups and instrumentation.
· IT-savvy, and competent in using word processors, spreadsheets and databases.
· Pro-active and professional approach; able to work without supervision.
· Able to carry out duties calmly when under pressure.
· Able to respond effectively to regularly changing priorities.
· Knowledge of Pro Tools and/or Logic software, or equivalent.
· A musical instrument

· Highly organised approach: able to prioritise requests as they come in.
