The Head of People will lead the delivery of the People agenda at LWE. They are responsible for driving initiatives that attract, engage, develop and retain great people. They will also act as a trusted partner to leaders and colleagues, providing effective management and guidance across all aspects of the employee experience. This role has one direct report, the Office Manager and one dotted line report, the Paralegal, and will collaborate with colleagues in the LW Theatres People team.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
People & Culture
- Lead the development and delivery of the People strategy, ensuring it supports business objectives, culture and colleague experience.
- Partner with leaders to build a high-performing, inclusive and values-led culture, providing expert support across all people matters.
- Lead organisational development initiatives, including performance management, learning and development, employee engagement, change management and early careers programmes.
- Use people data, feedback and insights to drive continuous improvement and informed decision-making.
People Operations
- Oversee the full employee lifecycle, including workforce planning, recruitment, onboarding, employee relations and offboarding.
- Lead employee relations matters, ensuring best practice, legal compliance and effective risk management across the business.
- Oversee HR systems, payroll inputs, benefits, compensation processes, people records and reporting.
- Ensure employment documentation, policies and procedures remain compliant, up to date and aligned with business needs.
- Provide commercial and pragmatic advice to leaders on employment law, organisational change and broader people initiatives.
Leadership & Office Operations
- Lead, develop and support the Office Manager and Paralegal, ensuring effective delivery of people and office operations.
- Oversee the efficient, safe and compliant running of the office environment.
Skills & Experience
- CIPD qualified (or equivalent experience) with strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
- Proven experience leading employee relations, organisational change and people initiatives in a standalone or senior HR role.
- Strong communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build credibility at all levels.
- Commercially minded, solutions-focused and confident balancing business needs with colleague experience.
- Strong organisational, analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience using people data to inform decisions.
- Experience managing HR systems, policies, processes and employment documentation.
- Self-motivated and collaborative, with an interest in entertainment, theatre or the creative industries being advantageous.
