A mysterious message from the Phantom has been discovered in Shanghai.
Speaking during a visit to the city to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Phantom of the Opera and the show’s return to Shanghai, Andrew Lloyd Webber revealed that he’s discovered a message from the Phantom:
“It’s a great joy to be here in Shanghai which is an incredible hub for new musical theatre as well as old productions. Yesterday, a message arrived at my hotel in that rather copperplate, old-fashioned handwriting that the Phantom of the Opera has, which says that he is already in Shanghai at the moment and has been looking for a building in where he will present his Masquerade. I understand he may have found one. I don’t quite know where it is yet, but I think you will find that the Phantom of the Opera has a very, very big plan for this city…”
