As a lifelong lover of musical theatre, discovering LWE’s in-house legal team felt like striking gold. I never imagined I could combine my passion for theatre with my legal training. The opportunity to peek behind the curtain and contribute to the process of bringing a musical to life didn’t seem like work to me!
I didn’t get the role the first time I applied, but I knew this was where I wanted to be. So, I bided my time, honed my skills, and waited for the chance to come around again. Today, I consider it a privilege to work in a field I’m genuinely passionate about -and that’s something I never take for granted.
The day the first Broadway licence I drafted was signed! It was for Sunset Boulevard starring Nicole Scherzinger—an incredible moment in theatrical history. Knowing I played even a small part in bringing that production to life was immensely rewarding and a real career highlight to date.
Early in my time at LWE, I had the incredible opportunity to sit in on auditions for The Phantom of the Opera. During one session, the Director asked someone to stand in for “Christine” so the auditionee - who happened to be a well-known West End actor—could perform. Being serenaded with “All I Ask of You” isn’t something that happens every day for a lawyer, and it’s a moment I’ll never forget!
